Obituary of Craig Daryll Wheaton

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Craig Daryll Wheaton announce his recent passing on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the age of 59.

Craig was born in Sackville, NB to Terrance and Debbie Wheaton.

Craig graduated from Tantramar Regional High School and played football for the Titans. He attended AC Cultural College in Truro, NS and was employed as a Herdsman at a dairy farm in the Amherst, NS area until he was able to have his own. Craig was enthusiastic about showing cattle and steers from which he won many awards, and he was a key organizer of the Nappan Border Classic Show and Sale. Once out West, Craig always enjoyed calling home and talking to friends and family while he was out on the road working, calling his mom every day. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Craig will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his parents, Debbie and Terrance Wheaton; his daughter, MacKenzie Ann Wheaton; his brothers, Wayne Wheaton, Royce Wheaton, Jeremy Wheaton and Kendall (Chelsea) Wheaton, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by a sister in infancy, Crystal Wheaton; his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Ina (Hicks) Wheaton; his maternal grandparents, Hollis and Sadie (Gould) Wheaton.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Following Craig’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00 pm followed by a graveside service in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Craig’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
