Obituary of Mariam Doris Shawley

Our beloved mother, Mariam Shawley, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026 in Sackville, NB.

 

Mariam was born in Edmonton, AB to the late Vera and Sam Jamha.

 

Beloved wife of the late Al Shawley, Mariam leaves behind her much-loved children, Judith Cane (Ian Fisher), David Cane (Lynanne); step-daughters, Jan (Steve Hoffart), Karen Cumming and sister-in-law, Alice Jamha.

 

Mariam will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Matt Cane (Samantha), Taylor Cane, Sam Fisher (Izzy), Duff Bailey, Morgan Bailey, Jared (Joanne) O’Donnell, Brenden Johnstone (Paul) and great-grandchildren, Fiona, Ainsley, Remi and Nora.

 

Mariam was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Robert and Roy; nephews, Allan, Doug, Darrell, Glenn and her former spouse, Jim Cane and cherished granddaughter, Caitlin Hoffart.

 

She will be dearly remembered by Bonnie Jamha, Shelly Jamha, Laura Jamha, Heather Smith, Diane Audley, Don and Donna Cane.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Following Mariam’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mariam’s memory may be made to the Sackville Hospital Foundation, Drew-Tantramar Foundation  or  the charity of one’s choice.
