Obituary of Ken Mitton

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Kenneth Robb Mitton announce his passing at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville NB on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 82 years of age.

Born in Dorchester on June 20, 1943 to Ray Mitton and Hazel (Sue) Bembridge, Ken was the oldest of their 6 children.

Ken grew up in Dorchester helping on his grandfather’s farm for many years before joining Enterprise Foundry, where he worked until it closed. After that he “drove truck” for Coop before retiring to “the camp” in Canaan NB with his wife Ruthie to be near their daughter and her family.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, Dale Paterson and his two granddaughters, Rayelle and Kali Paterson; his sister, Angie Sears; brothers, Daryll (Ann), Rod (Dori) and Gary as well as sisters-in-law, Lynn (late Lorne) Mitton, Norma (late Edgar) Estabrooks, brothers-in-law, Cedric (Ted) Coombs and David Monkman as well by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ken was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Ruth (Coombs); his daughter, Kenda Paterson; a daughter in infancy; his brother, Lorne; his brothers-in-law, Eyrol Sears, Edgar Estabrooks, Ed Cunningham and Ray LeBlanc as well as his sisters-in-law, Audrey LeBlanc, Amy Cunningham and Ellen Monkman.

Ken’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Drew Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Ken received while he was a resident there.

If so desired, donations in memory of Ken may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and at his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
