Obituary of Blaine Eugene Richard
Blaine Eugene Richard passed peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday December 23rd, 2025.
Born and raised in Parkdale, Prince Edward Island, Blaine was the beloved son of the late Arthur (Toots) and Marge Richard.
Blaine will be forever missed and deeply loved by his devoted wife, Vivian Allen and his cherished daughter, Danielle Peters (Rob). He will also be lovingly remembered by his stepdaughters, Peggy Watson and Heather Allen; his stepson, Andrew Allen (Monique), as well as by his step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a young adult, Blaine left Prince Edward Island and proudly served in the Canadian Navy as a steward. Following his service, he built a long and accomplished career as a truck driver, travelling extensively throughout Canada and the United States. During his time with Midland Transport, Blaine earned the prestigious Million Miles Accident-Free Award, a testament to his dedication and professionalism. He retired at the age of 72, closing a career he took great pride in.
Blaine was a devoted NASCAR and hockey fan, known for his great sense of humour, warm heart, and welcoming nature. He loved meaningful conversations and meeting new people, always ready with a smile or a story. His favourite place in the world was home, living by the ocean in Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick, alongside his beloved wife Vivian and their loyal dog, Moose.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). A celebration of Blaine’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blaine’s memory to a charitable organization of one’s choice.
Vivian and Danielle wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many healthcare professionals who provided compassionate care to Blaine over the years, particularly the dialysis unit at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Westford Nursing Home, and the Palliative Care team at Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Blaine will be remembered for his kindness, humour, love of family, and the genuine way he connected with everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in all who knew him.
