Obituary of Shirley Lorraine (Estabrooks) Chrvala

It is with deep sadness that the family of Shirley Lorraine Chrvala, age 79, announces her passing on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Drew Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Born in Sackville, NB on October 30, 1945, she was the only daughter of the late Russell and Laura Estabrooks.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kyla Shupe (Paul) of Sackville; Kirsten Thompson of Sussex and Jason (Patricia) of High Level, AB; her three grandchildren, Erin Cowie (Lex), Shane, Jessa; her step-granddaughter, Kiana; her two step-great-grandsons, Kane and Kaleb; her sisters-in-law, Florence Estabrooks and Adrienne Chrvala, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her son-in-law, Arthur Thompson, as well as by her brothers, Donald, Carman, Glynn and Floyd.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Burial of Shirley’s ashes along with her husband, Raymond’s ashes, will take place at a private burial at the Sackville Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to Parkinson Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
