Obituary of Lee Estabrooks

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and brother, Lelard (Lee) Victor Estabrooks on August 31, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born January 26th, 1942, Lee was the youngest son of Ralph Estabrooks and Selena Estabrooks nee Sears.

Lee loved hunting at his camp, and putting together puzzles during the fall and winter and camping with his family in the summer. But what Lee loved the most was his wife of 60 years, Ruth nee Atkinson and his daughters, Wanda (Jeff) Ayer of Sackville and Karen Estabrooks of Moncton. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his grand children, Matthew Estabrooks of Alberta, Tara (Eric) Lyall of Shubenacadie, NS, Trieka (Andy) Hart of Sackville, NB, Brandon Oulton of Moncton, NB, and Jessie Oulton of Cape-Cassie, NB. But nothing could bring a smile to his face faster than his 9 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Peyton, Olivia, Quinn, Eli, Kane, Kinsley and Garth. He is also survived by his sister, Ida Wells.

Lee spent 53 years working at Enterprise Fawcett Foundry and during the down times at the foundry he worked building R2000 homes with John Amos and working with Alan Pooley’s Electrical.

Lee was an avid bowler and hockey player and part of the Northumberland and Tantramar CB Radio Clubs.

Lee was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Selena; his brothers, Roland, Mack, Fred and Clinton, as well as by his sister, Mary Fillmore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff at Cambell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506) 364-8188. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2-4 pm. Interment and funeral will take place at a later date.

Thank you to everyone on the Brunswick Unit of the Sackville Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. Wall and nurses, Steve and Sandy in the palliative care unit.

Donations may be made to the Midgic Baptist Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
