Obituary of Zilda Ida (Horsman) Sears

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zilda Ida (Horsman) Sears on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Drew Nursing Home at the age of 99. 

Born in Berry Mills, NB on November 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Ezikiel Horsman and Hazel Margaret (MacDonald).

Zilda will be missed by her sons, Irvin and Stanley; her daughter, Carol; her brother, Neil (Julia) Horsman of Sackville; her sister, Elin Horsman of Chilliwack, BC; her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Zilda was pre-deceased by her husband, Harry Sears, her grandson, Eric Sears; her granddaughter, Melanie; her two brothers and her four sisters, as well as by her daughter-in-law, Jeannette Sears.  

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Zilda’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A family graveside service will take place in the Horsman Cemetery in Lutes Mountain.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Zilda may be made to the Horsman Cemetery, or to the charity of one’s choice.
