Obituary of Robert "Bob" Berry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Berry on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Moncton City Hospital at the age of 77.

Born in Sackville, NB on June 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Rolland and Juanita Berry. He was the youngest of his family.

Bob worked at Mount Allison University for over 30 years. He was Mayor, Deputy Mayor, grounds keeper, Zamboni operator and helped out in all kinds of sports and was also a member of the Sackville Rod and Gun Club. When Bob was at the rink, he could be seen rooting on all the players. One of his favorite places was Johnson’s camp in Johnson’s Mills when hunting season was on.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Hazel Berry; step-children, John (Bonnie) Brownell, Jean Brownell and Stanley Brownell, as well as by his five grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Rolli Berry; his sisters, Gwen and Betty; his step-sons, Leslie and Bruce Brownell, as well as by his great-granddaughter, Sara.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Honoring Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1 pm at the Midgic Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to Sackville Minor Hockey, Bob Edgett’s Memorial Boxing Club, Sackville Rod and Gun Club or the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of both the Sackville Hospital and The Moncton Hospital for their care and compassion during this time.

On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
