Bob was the first Mayor of Sackville to hold a Pride celebration and to raise the Rainbow flag in front of the Sackville Town Hall. He showed me that it really is possible for a person to dig deeply into their beliefs, ponder them in their heart, and even change them. His was an act of enlightened thoughtfulness that we all appreciated so much. He was a really good listener! And he was kind. He really worked hard for EVERYONE in this community and we are all better for it. He will be missed. I send heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends. Janet Hammock

Sackville certainly lost one of it’s best with the passing of Bob. I was fortunate enough to have had several great conversations with him over the past couple of weeks. Family and friends were always very close to the big man’s heart and remained so. I first met Bob while hanging out at Allison Gardens as a kid. He was a positive influence from that day on. Many great memories and laughs. My sincere condolences to Hazel and the rest of Bob’s family.

Spent many hours with Bob at Allison Gardens & many more touring the paved & unpaved roads of greater Sackville. I am certainly a better person for those conversations had back in the day. The solid and well timed advice & opinions most appreciated. I couldn’t ever say thank you enough. Hazel & family sorry for your loss. Robert

Sending best wishes to Bob's family. Bob was a close friend back when we were much younger. In his youth he was a great skater and hockey player - very light on his feet for a big guy, and he could really shoot the puck. He was a founding member of the Road Agents Car Club, and we had great times and so much laughter with that gang of fine citizens. He was a very caring person, and everyone loved him. He was always interested in making the world a better place. It was inevitable that he would go on to be an influential figure in Sackville and the surrounding areas. He will truly be missed. Condolences from Charlotte and Larry Vance.

So sorry to read of Bob's passing. Bob was one of the good ones for sure. I remember when Mount Allison bought the zamboni and how excited Bobby was to clean the ice!! Long time ago and Bob never changed. Always kind and a jolly smile when we saw each other. You could count on Bob to watch over the gang when we were young. Totalled Dad's car on the way to Rockport one Sunday afternoon and Bobby driving behind us must have been quite a site for Bobby to watch. He was the big brother for all of us runts. Lots of great memories.
I've read some of the Facebook comments and his family felt the same about Bob as he did about his family. Condolences to Hazel and all his family and friends. He made a difference in the world and he will be missed.

I still remember the early morning practices where he’d open the rink, turn the lights on and make sure everything was ready for us.

I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Bob. When we came to Sackville in 1974 Bob and Austin were two of the first people I met. Both were so welcoming. I quickly recognized how supportive and loyal Bob was to the Mounties, Minor Hockey, the Titans, and the Citizens of Sackville. . His contribution to the residents of Sackville as Councillor and Mayor were always in the best interests to the citizens of our Town. He will be missed. God bless, Jack Drover.
