Obituary of Charles GORDON Carlisle

It is with sadness, yet peace of heart, that we announce the passing of Gordon Carlisle, age 86, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 10, 2025.  Born in Douglas, New Brunswick he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Hanson) Carlisle.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Angela (Doncaster); son, Robert “Bob”; his wife, Lauren and their three children, Macy, Wesley and Jesse. He is also survived by sisters Joan Carlisle-Irving and Jane Carlisle; brother, John (Judith); several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Gordon was predeceased by daughter, Kathy and her mother, Marie; a sister, Margaret Carlisle and brothers, Bill and Bob.

Gordon was well known for being the local “bread man” in the ‘60s and ‘70s and the “milk man” in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Wonderful memories and stories were told over the years of the many people he met and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Gordon enjoyed picking fiddleheads in the spring, the sweet smell of a summer hayfield, many backroad country “tours” and his bountiful vegetable garden that he shared with anyone and everyone.  His generosity was immeasurable.  But, most of all, he cherished his three precious grandchildren that brought him much joy and happiness later in life.

A special thank you to the Extra Mural Program and their expertise and professionalism that they provided to Gordon.  It was very much appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 12-3 PM followed by the funeral service at 3PM with Pastor Morris Mills officiating.  A light lunch will follow the funeral.
