I just found out this news and I am quite saddened. My thoughts and condolences go out to the entire family. I was in his very first abstract algebra course at Mount Allison and he was already fabulous. He was one of the most inspiring of my teachers. He will be remembered and missed always.

Our thoughts are with Anne and her family. I first met Art as my professor for Finite Math when I was 14. He was a phenomenal teacher, the best I had, and I took courses from pretty much everyone in the math department, including my own father (sorry Dad). Chrstine took Calculus from Art in her freshman year when she was 16, and was similarly impressed with his teaching, as well as having a mad crush on him. When we returned to Sackville 30 years later, Art was always up for a chat, and Christine enjoyed many a good game at the tennis/pickle ball courts with Art. He was a genuinely good man, and will be missed.

Dear Anne, Jason, Jennifer and Jonny,
We are so sorry for your loss. We vividly remember moving to Sackville in 1982 with no appliances and your welcoming offer to use those in your house while you were away, trotting around the corner for the milk at mealtime! Many memories of the kindness of your family to ours. Art will indeed be missed.

Dear Anne and family: We are so sorry for your loss. All of us will miss Art as he always seemed to be a kindly, happy person, who engaged so well with everybody and their interests. We know how difficult it must have been for you and your family when he wasn't that happy-go-lucky kinda guy in these past months. You were wonderful with him through his recent challenges...he was lucky to have you in his life. The times and activities you shared with each other over the years will never be forgotten...nor will the fact that "Coach Miller" was probably a more valuable person for Mount Allison's volleyball than I was...he stepped up to save the program through his short, but necessary dedication and commitment to the program's continuation. Now, he's probably beating his name sake, the great, great ARTHUR Ashe...40-love above the clouds....Stay fit and active at the tennis courts like Art would want you to keep doing. Take care and keep well Anne. RIP Art, and thank you. Hugs, Sue.

Anne and family... I am truly sorry to hear of Art's passing. He was a true gentleman and a great friend. He was such a resource for so many students and colleagues over so many years and decades. He never missed the chance of inviting me to play tennis, but we always settled for coffee and discussion... he will be a real loss to the community. Sincere condolences ... Michael Fox

Anne and Family,
Please accept my condolences for your loss.
I can say that Art had a significant influence in my decision to follow a path in computer science. I had the opportunity to be one of his students and eventually a fellow colleague. I had actually heard of him even before meeting him because my sister had taken a class from him before I even started university. He was always somebody that you would enjoy talking and laughing with.

My sincere condolences to the Miller family, I was very saddened by this news. Dr. Miller was my favourite prof at Mt.A. and wrote a recommendation letter that was probably responsible for getting me admitted to grad school. I am grateful for his many amazing lectures, anecdotes and his always interesting ways of making a point.
Johnny, I hope you are doing well. Please contact me anytime if you're in NS and would like to connect.

Art was the kind of professor that could present a simple mathematical proof with such enthusiasm that his students would turn around and submit the proof to the creative writing section of the Argosy. He will be much missed by all who knew him.

He was a great dad. He supported me in everything I did. He built the props, he built the shed, he fixed the house, he loved the grandkids, he travelled far and wide to spend time with us, he told great jokes. Right up until the very end he let us know how much he loved us. Now he can build anything and everything up in the sky and watch over those he loved so well. I will miss this man every day.
