Obituary of Alonzo Job Dobson
Cape Tormentine, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Alonzo Dobson, age 88, announce his passing on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on November 2, 1919 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Marple and Viola (Ogden) Dobson.
Alonzo will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Ada (McGlashing) Dobson of Cape Tormentine, N.B.; one son, Danny (Bev) Dobson of Moncton, N.B.; two daughters, Dawn (Dexter) Martin of Prince George, B.C. and Karen Dobson (Wayne Scantland) of Ottawa, Ontario; two sisters, Roberta Pauley of Fredericton, N.B. and Donna Olson of Moncton, N.B.; four grandchildren Robert, Diane, Shawnda and Kaylin; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Kate and Landon as well many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Evelyn Lane, Nettie Calareese, Velma Davis, Corrine Smith and Mattie Oulton and by his three brothers, Norman , Rupert and Stanley.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Trinity United Church in Cape Tormentine, N.B. The funeral service will be held from Trinity United Church, Cape Tormentine on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2:30 PM with William Drysdale, D.L.M, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alonzo may be made to the Trinity United Church, Cape Tormentine or to the charity of one’s choice.
