Obituary of Elsie Bernice Estabrooks
Elsie B. (Wheaton) Estabrooks, passed away very peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B., on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the age of 102. She was a former resident of Mount View, N.B., but had been living with her daughter in Mount Whatley until February, when she became a resident of Westford.
Born on September 2, 1906 in Mount View, N.B., she was the daughter of the late William and Natalie (Cook) Wheaton.
Elsie was a school teacher for several years and a longtime member of the Middle Sackville Baptist Church.
Elsie will be sadly missed by her children, Murray (Gail) of Hamilton, Ontario, David (Marianna) of Grimsby, Ontario, Julia (Robert) Lockwood of Mount Whatley, N.B. and Eric (Wanda) of Sackville, N.B.; one sister, Geraldine Trenholm of Sackville, N.B.; sister-in-law, Mavis Wheaton of Sackville, N.B. and brother-in-law, Vernon Estabrooks of Sackville, N.B. Elsie is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Estabrooks in 1989; an infant daughter, Natalie; sisters, Kathleen Brooks, Freda Read and Gwen Estabrooks and by her brother, Gerald Wheaton.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 3 PM from Campbell’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. A time of reception will be shared at the funeral home following the service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Four Corners Cemetery.
