Cher Geoffrey, Mirasol, Paul and Elise, I am very sorry to learn about Nena/Nina's passing. I can imagine the pain and sorrow that it would bring to you all (and your families). Nina, Heather Macdonald and Ruth Jones were friends in high school. I recall Nina's laugh and shy smile. I am happy that I was able to connect a couple of times with her in the past few years. She was attempting to manage her health and continued to enjoy living in Montreal. Sending you loving thoughts at this sad time.

I could talk to Marielle forever and we would never run out of things to say. She was one of my favourite human beings on Earth. She loved her friends, family, (and cats!) so fully and unconditionally. She was the bravest and strongest person I ever knew. And what a sense of humour she had! We would sometimes laugh so hard the tears would roll down our faces. My life is richer for having had her in it. My deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved Marielle.

“Living with grace” is how I picture tall, blonde Nina, walking by our house on Squire Street in our early days in Sackville. I am sorry that the ravages of diabetes caused serious health struggles in later years and took her from this world at a rather young age. Mike and I send our sincere condolences to the family and are happy to have the opportunity to honour Nina and visit with you this Thursday.
