My favorite memories of Dad usually took place fishing on the Cape Tormentine Wharf. One beautiful Saturday, I had a really rough morning so he said "Let's go fishing" knowing it would cheer me up. We sat on the wharf in our usual spot, in the "gut", and a freak rain storm rolled in. Dad, along with the rest of the people on the wharf, ran for shelter behind the lighthouse at the end of the dock. Dad yelled to me "Ashley! Come over here! Get out of the rain!" and since I was still pouting, I yelled back "Nope! I'm going to sit right here!" and I continued on fishing, getting utterly soaked in the process. The freak rain storm rolled on and the sun came back out and eventually dried us up. I don't even know if we caught anything that day. Dad just knew how to save me from myself.
I love you, Dad.
Laurie was a nice guy, always had a smile and some pleasant conversation. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. Sending our condolences to his family at this sad time.
Blessings to Lauries family , his special smile and twinkle in his eyes , his amazing clams and other fish dishes none could compare . I will miss him dropping in with goodies , jokes and a friendly hug , I will just plain miss him ,thank God for all the memories he left us ,, He was a cousin I was so proud of ,, Rest In Peace ... It's a sad day for those he left behind but a great day to whoever gets him next.
