Obituary of John Walter Balser

Today our oldest brother, Jack, went to his eternal rest after a long, hard fought life dealing with disabilites.

Born on September 19, 1936 in Sackville N.B., he was the son of the late Embert and Audrey (Estabrooks) Balser of Sackville N.B.

Jack had a deep-seated love for children and animals and was often seen with children surrounding him at his crosswalk guard duties.  He bought a golden lab in the late 1990's whom he loved dearly.  His passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs was evident while observing him watching games.  Jack also got great enjoyment listening to blue grass music and attending blue grass events held in this region during the summer.

Jack leaves to mourn his four siblings, his brother, Allan Embert Balser (Joan McEwen) of Point de Bute, N.B.and  his three sisters, Ruth Geraldine Balser of Nunavet, Patricia Ann Wheaton (Clair) and Katherine Lynn Whitten (Michael Legacy) of Sackville, N.B., as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3 pm. The funeral service will take place at 3 pm with Pastor Daniel Basham officiating. The burial will take place in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Moncton SPCA, the IWK Children's Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.  On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
