Obituary of Cynthia Marjorie Richards

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cynthia Richards at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the age of 94.

Born in Midgic, N.B. on December 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Luella (Estabrooks) and John Beal.

Cynthia worked at Steadman’s and the Dollar Store for many years and was employed at Sackville Laundry until her retirement.

Cynthia will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Shirley (late Ivan) Trenholm, Robert (Carolyn) Richards and Wendell Richards (Linda Dupuis), all of Sackville, N.B.; her brothers, Abner (Ruby) Beal and Raymond (Heather) Beal; her sister, Daphna Day (Wallace); her sisters-in-law, Hazel Beal and Rose Beal; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren, as well as by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband 71 years, Robert Richards; her infant daughter, Lois Pearl; her sisters, Alberta Ibbitson and Inga White; her brothers, Earl, Hollis, Hyle, Donald, Lloyd, John, Harold, Harry and Leaman, as well as by her great-grandsons, Derrick and Colby.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188.  In keeping with Cynthia’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.  A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Midgic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cynthia may be made to the Midgic Cemetery, Midgic Baptist Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
