Obituary of Wayne Douglas Tower

Sackville, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Tower, on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Wayne passed away suddenly at his home in Sackville at the age of 70 years. Born in Sackville, N.B. on June 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Angus Archibald Tower and Juletta Theresa Tower. Wayne was an avid poker player, an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling. He loved to do wood working and carpentry and was always making something and thinking of new projects to do. Wayne and his wife Sharon would always go above and beyond at Christmas and decorate outside for their family and to share with the community. He liked taking regular drives to Shakum, spending time at the camp with his family, family reunions and going camping with his kids. Wayne was especially proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his children, Mike Hicks (son-in-law), Shelley (Richard) Tower, Carl (Melissa) Tower, Wendy (Fred) Atkinson and Crystal (Jimmy Cole); his brothers, Eric (Evelyn) Tower of Ontario and Dwight Tower of Sackville, N.B.; his grandchildren, Misty, Amber, Shane, Cody, Stephanie, Joshua and Jacob; his great-grandchildren, Lilyah, Nicholas, Julien and Lincoln as well as by his Uncle, Roy Tower. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wife, Sharon Sybilla (Sears) Tower in 2009; his sisters, Mary Ann and Jeanette and by his brother, Allan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. The burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the family to assist them with expenses.
