Obituary of Arnold Lewis Ricker

Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Arnold (Arnie) Ricker, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Drew Nursing Home. Arnie passed away peacefully at the age of 91, with his wife of 67 years and his family by his side. Born in Sackville, N.B. on April 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Helen Anne (Farrow) and Moss Gaius Ricker. Arnie was a veteran of WWII, having served in England and India with the RCAF and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Sackville. Arnie was employed at Enterprise Foundry until his retirement and in his retirement years enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved to work in his yard. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Arnie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Peggy (Snowdon) Ricker; his two daughters, Nancy (Ron) Manderson of Riverview, N.B. and Janice (Daryl) Trites of Caissie Cape, N.B.; four grandchildren, Marc (Andrea) Trites of Warren, N.S., Rebecca (Dan) Estabrooks of Sackville, N.B., Kraig (Julie) Manderson of Riverview, N.B. and Kevin (Sarah) Manderson of Australia; seven great-grandchildren, Samuel, Aiden and Marek Trites and Ruth, James, Thomas and Levi Estabrooks, as well as by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sisters, Dorothy Fage and Elsie Wright and by his brothers, Ronald, Raymond, Earle and Everett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 3 pm at the Drew Nursing Home, 165 Main Street, Sackville, N.B. Visiting hours will take place from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at 3. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold their memorial service at 2 pm. Due to the limited parking at the Drew Nursing Home, additional parking is available across the street in the Mount Allison University parking lot on King Street. The burial will take place at the Westcock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arnie may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church, New Hope Ministries, Drew Nursing Home or to the charity of one’s choice.
