Obituary of Doreen Eleanor Ward

It is with great sadness but peace of heart, that the family of Doreen Eleanor Ward announces her passing in Sackville on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Born in Port Elgin, N.B. on August 28, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Violet (Walton) Pauley. Doreen was a quiet, kind hearted lady who dedicated her life to her family, always putting them first. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her special great-granddaughter, Danika. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nancy Phinney, Karen (Mike) Brown and Paulette (Dave) McNally all of Sackville, N.B.; her son, Chuck (Lou) Ward of Moncton, N.B.; her grandchildren, Carrie Phinney, Leann (Jay) Sinanansingh, Scott Brown, Isaac Ward and Madison Ward; her great-granddaughter, Danika Phinney; her sister, Linda Maxwell of Ontario; her brother, Jim (Linda) Pauley of St. John, N.B. and by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Paul Ward; grandson, Matthew Brown; sister, Marjorie Hicks; brothers-in-law, Arlie Hicks and Billy Maxwell and by her sister-in-law, Karin Pauley. Mom, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palms of His hands, and we will hold you in our hearts. Doreen’s family wishes to extend special thanks to those who were so kind and cared for their mother in the past two years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-8188). In keeping with Doreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Bob Edgett Memorial Building Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
